Superbaby Adventures Who Ate The Cake?

Today was little Jisi’s first day,
To go to school where she’ll learn and play;
Little Jisi has just turned three,
She’s so excited to attend nursery.

Their teacher is the lovely Mrs. Baker,
Who also sidelines as a pastry maker;
For the first day of school she made a cake,
The kids would eat it during snack break.

Before the snack break they had PE,
So they were running around outside, whee;
They went back inside when PE was done,
Only to find that the cake was gone.

Someone had eaten most of the cake,
With only some crumbs left to take;
The other kids started to cry,
But little Jisi’s eyes remained dry.

This heinous crime made everyone wary,
Everyone suspected it was Patty and Seri;
Those two girls liked anything sweet,
They don’t brush often so they have terrible teeth.

Instead of crying like what kids do,
She thought that she would find out who;
She brought out her magnifying glass,
To look for clues inside the class.

She looked everywhere, even the ceiling,
The entire time she had this feeling;
That she was being watched from somewhere nearby,
Then a certain cupboard caught her eye.

This cupboard looked the same as the rest,
Except for a hole made by a pest;
A trail of crumbs led to the hole,
Little Jisi was close to her goal.

Inside the hole she found a fat rat,
The rat did it, that’s the end of that;
The other kids felt bad so they said sorry,
They were forgiven by Patty and Seri.

The others started calling her superbaby,

Or to make it short, just SBB;

Mrs. Baker gave her a gold star,

And also a cookie from a jar.

School was over, it was time to go,

They exited the class row by row;

The parents were waiting at the lobby,

Little Jisi went home with her mommy.

I made this “nursery rhyme” as a Christmas gift for Jisi. She came back to the Philippines this Christmas. Superbaby, or SBB, is her cartoon persona.
